I once did something so unfortunate that I use it as an ongoing life lesson. No matter how tough things are, I never quit. Even when I should. But I’ve learned the hard way that momentary relief can cause a world of pain down the line. That doesn't mean that I roll over and let people take advantage of me, or that I won’t stand up for myself.

But, I’ve made it a practice to do all I can do to make something work out, rather than quitting.

I think it’s that attitude that has also helped me be a bit more careful when it comes to burning bridges. This too is a pretty unhealthy thing to do, in life and in business. That's not to say that I haven’t made the mistake of burning a bridge. I certainly have, I’m sure we all have. But, I do my best to try not to do that now. Hmmm. I wonder if this is what you call getting older and wiser. All that really means is that you’ve seen enough to know that touching that stove really, truly will burn your hand, no matter how many times you’ve told yourself that maybe, just this once…
